Welcome To Folville

Head Teacher's Welcome:

Thank you for visiting Folville Junior School’s Web Site.I am very proud to be the headteacher of such a wonderful school and urge you to visit us as well as browse the site.I hope that you find these pages informative and please do not hesitate in giving us ideas on how we can make them even better.

Our lovely building is nearly 80 years old and has seen many changes. It began life as a girls’ secondary school in the 1930s and many visitors remember the large sewing and cooking rooms. It became a junior school in the 1960s and has seen thousands of children pass through its doors. We welcome back many parents, grandparents and great grandparents who have happy memories of their early school life at Folville.

The name Folville is a mystery to us. In french it would roughly translate to “Mad Town”, which occassionally is quite fitting! More likely the name comes from the local Leicestershire villages which have Folville in their names. We are all very proud of our school and believe it offers something quite unique to the children who attend.

The pupils at Folville are given a great start in life both academically and socially. We have high standards in all that we do and we strive to bring out the best in every single child.Visitors always comment on the warm welcome they receive from our school.

Please spend some time with us to really get to know how good a school Folville is!
