Year 5            Lockdown 3             Working from home

 

Dear parents/ carers

We know it is not easy to home school (we are all parents ourselves) but we hope that you will be able to support your child in their learning from home. We have provided CGP workbooks for the children to use at home and are also posting work to do online on Google Classroom.

We will regularly Zoom the children to support them in their learning and to give them the opportunity to see their friends.

Please message us through Dojo Year 5. One of the Year 5 team will respond to you in due course – it may not be your child’s teacher as we are on a rota for teaching in school and supporting at home. Please bear with us!

The work:

Every week the Year 5 team will post a timetable of work on Google classroom and on Dojo. It will also be posted here on the website.

Each day there will be a Maths lessons, a Writing or Grammar lesson, a Reading activity and a Topic activity. Please encourage your child to have a go at the work and send it back to us at Google Classroom. The answers for the CGP work are at the back of the books so they can self-mark but it also good to upload it to Google Classroom.

Every Monday, there will be a list of spellings for your child to practise and they can then be tested by someone at home on a Friday.

We would love your child to keep on reading – remember they can access myOn to read new material.

Please also logon to Times Tables Rock Stars and complete 15 minutes a day.

 

We hope that you will also have time to go for a walk or do some Joe Wicks, play some games or do some baking! These things are important too!
