Jack Greene Tudor Visit

Jack Greene Tudor Visit

This month, as part of their topic, Year 4 received a visit from Jack Greene to discover more about The Tudors. The children had a great day which included observing, smelling and wearing many Tudor artefacts.

Children handled and explored a variety of Tudor objects and were able to compare them to the modern day equivalents.  Jack demonstrated the jobs and day to day life of a Tudor villager and the children soon learnt how hard but simple life was! Many faces were pulled as the children got to grips with some of the natural medicines and potions that used to be used to cure ailments.  The perfect tonic to end the visit was watching a musket and a long bow being fired in the playground that linked to The Spanish Armada - it made quite a sound!
