Facebook privacy settings
This is for older family members as Facebook requires everyone to be at least 13 years old before they can create an account. Creating an account with false info is a violation of Facebook terms. This includes accounts registered on the behalf of someone under 13.
You don't have to share your status with everyone and their friends, you have the ability to decide which posts are public and which are private in the settings section of the Facebook app.
Tik Tok (Musical.ly) - Setting up a Private Account

This is for older family members as Instagram requires everyone to be at least 13 years old before they can create an account.
If your child is younger than 13 and created an account on Instagram, the above link also has information on how to delete an account.
Snapchat
Again, this is for older family members as snapchat has a minimum age of 13. Snapchat ask for a date of birth upon sign up, and if the birth date indicates that the user is under 13, they’re not allowed to create an account.
