Our most recent Ofsted inspection (December 2024) recognised Folville Junior School as a friendly, welcoming, and safe place where pupils thrive. Inspectors praised the high expectations set by leaders and the way pupils work hard and achieve well across the curriculum. They noted that pupils are confident, enthusiastic learners who talk proudly about their work and are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
Relationships between staff and pupils were described as respectful and positive, with children showing kindness, responsibility, and care for one another. The report highlighted that behaviour is calm and considerate, and pupils know they can always speak to a trusted adult.
Inspectors commended the school’s ambitious curriculum and the strong teaching of reading, noting that by Year 6 most pupils are fluent readers who love books. The inspection also celebrated Folville’s broad personal development offer, including music, sport, and performances that build character and confidence.
Staff were praised for their dedication and professionalism, with inspectors recognising that they feel supported and proud to work at the school. Governance and safeguarding were both judged to be strong and effective.
Overall, the report reflects a school rooted in care, high standards, and community spirit — a place where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to achieve their very best.
