I would like to warmly welcome you to Folville Junior School — a vibrant, multicultural community built on the belief that every child deserves a champion.

Folville is a caring and ambitious primary school in the heart of the Braunstone community. Housed in a beautiful 1930s building, originally a girls’ secondary school, it has served generations of Braunstone families and continues to welcome new families to the area. Our history gives us a strong sense of identity; our future is shaped by the relationships, care, and ambition that define us.

Ofsted (December 2024) described Folville as “a friendly and welcoming school where pupils enjoy their learning and feel safe.” Inspectors recognised our pupils’ positive behaviour, their confidence in talking about learning, and the strong relationships that underpin our success. They noted that leaders have high expectations, that pupils achieve well across the curriculum, and that staff are proud to work here because their well-being and workload are valued.

At Folville, relationships come first. We care deeply for our children and challenge them to be the very best they can be. Our vision is to make Folville a true centre of excellence — a safe, nurturing, and ambitious school where care and challenge sit side by side, and every child is supported to thrive.

Reading sits at the heart of our school. Our children are enthusiastic readers who love to talk about books and stories. Inspectors saw that by Year 6, most pupils are fluent readers who use their skills confidently across the curriculum. Alongside this, our rich music and wider curriculum provides opportunities for creativity, confidence, and joy — from performances like Folville’s Got Talent to instrumental tuition and sporting tournaments.

We work closely with Imperial Avenue Infant School, where most of our pupils begin their journey, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition into Year 3. Together with our families and wider community, we create a calm, purposeful environment where barriers are removed, talents are celebrated, and excellence is achieved through kindness, respect, and perseverance.

At the heart of Folville is a belief that care, respect, and high expectations create the foundations for excellence. Every child is known, valued, and supported to succeed — not just in their learning, but in their confidence, character, and sense of belonging.
